Mostly, other members of the society recognize and confirm the existence of an individual, and therefore, non-recognition may result in a kind of injury that is often included in the context of social violence. (Whitehead, 2004) For instance, when the expressed wishes of an individual or a group of individuals are not listened or recognized by the other members of the society; they end up in the expression through violence, which is considered a means of seeking attention among the individuals of the society.

Terrorism, rape, burglary, theft, media violence, linguistic violence, harassment, etc. are some of the acts of violence that have affected the society in the sociological perspective. It is not necessary that the expressed wishes through such medium of violence will be right and ethical, and therefore, mostly the violence is considered a selfish manner of implementing theories and perspective of an individual group in the other parts of the community. For instance, one of the common forms of violence that has achieved global attention is the terrorism, which is one of the most devastating forms of violence in the globe.

(Hagan, 2003) Violence affects an individual, a group of individuals, a community, a society, a nation, and sometimes, a group of nations in the sociological viewpoint of the violence. Individuals play an important and vital role in the development of a society, and therefore, the sociological perspective of violence mainly focus on the impact of violence on these individuals in the context of their families, their personal capabilities, and the society as a whole. In this regard, one of the most studied and researched form of sociological violence is the verbal injuries that does often results in a physical violence; however, it is one of the most effective methodologies of injuring an individual or a society as a whole.
